Four car rides, one camera angle each: SILVESTER (WT, 2025) is the story of Alex, a Berlin coke taxi driver who, on New Year‘s Eve, is caught up in the memories of the past year and the unexpected death of her brother.
SILVESTER is Schorn Kalinsky‘s first feature film as director, a collaborative work that she developed together with screenwriter Sebastian Ladwig↑, starring Marie Bloching↑.
Currently, she is developing her second feature film PAULA (WT). Set in Buenos Aires, it deals with experiences of exile.

Born in Bergisch Gladbach, Germany, Johanna Schorn Kalinsky studied film directing in Buenos Aires, Argentina, at the Universidad del Cine (FUC), followed by the Postgraduate Film Programme at the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella. From 2018 to 2021 she taught screenwriting at the Universidad del Cine before returning to Germany. Since 2021 she has been an active member of the editorial team at Revolver↑, the magazine for film. She lives and works in Berlin.
